Captain Amrinder Singh is the son of late Maharaja of Patiala Yadavindra Singh, and Mohinder Kaur. He is the head of the royal house of Patiala and belongs to Phulkian dynasty. He studied at the Lawrence School Sanawar and The Doon School, Dehradun. He has two children: Yuvraj Raninder Singh and Jayainder Kaur.
